Body found near Dartford in search for missing Longfield woman
Kent Police have tragically discovered a woman’s body in Green Street Green, Dartford, while hunting for missing 56-year-old Maria Pilgrim.
Emergency crews were called to the scene at around 7pm on Monday, 28 April 2025. Although formal ID is yet to be confirmed, police have informed Maria’s family, who reported her missing five days earlier on 23 April.
Investigation Underway
A Kent Police spokesperson said:
“Formal identification is yet to be completed. The family of the missing woman have been informed. Enquiries are ongoing to establish the cause of death in liaison with the coroner.”
Officers have launched a full probe into the circumstances surrounding the discovery. The cause of death remains unknown. A post-mortem and coroner’s inquiry will reveal more.
Police stressed there are no immediate signs of foul play, but an open mind will be kept while forensic tests continue.

Maria’s disappearance sparked a large search spanning Longfield, Dartford, and nearby areas, with heartfelt appeals flooding social media.
