Commuters face major disruption this morning after a fatality on the tracks near Freshford. Emergency services rushed to the scene early today, forcing the closure of the Bath Spa to Westbury route.

Train Services Cancelled or Delayed

A Great Western Railway (GWR) spokesperson said:

“Due to the emergency services dealing with an incident, the lines are currently blocked. Freshford, Avoncliffe and Bradford-on-Avon will not be served by trains until further notice. Train services running through these stations may be cancelled or delayed. Disruption is expected until 09:00.”

Replacement Taxis Operating, Arrival Times Uncertain

To ease travel woes, replacement taxis are now running between Bath Spa and Westbury, stopping at Freshford, Avoncliffe, and Bradford-on-Avon. However, GWR warns that arrival times may vary and cannot be guaranteed.
