Fox Trapped on Electrified Tracks Rescued by Brave Volunteers
A fox’s nightmare on Westcombe Park Station turned into a heartwarming rescue thanks to quick-thinking volunteers from the Greenwich Wildlife Network.
Danger on the Tracks
The poor fox got itself caught on the electrified train tracks with a crisp packet stuck on its head. A passing train even ran over its tail, leaving the animal trapped and seriously injured.
Heroes Step In
Volunteers Rachel and Matt didn’t hesitate. They quickly assessed the situation and called in the big guns – Network Rail and the police – to safely halt trains and clear the way for a rescue.
With railway staff pitching in, the fox was finally freed from danger.
Fight for Survival
The injured fox was rushed to South Essex Wildlife Hospital. Experts are optimistic despite the serious tail injury, as partial amputations are common in wildlife recovery.
“Their swift action and compassion saved the life of a vulnerable creature,” said a spokesperson for the Greenwich Wildlife Network.
This rescue shows the power of community spirit and the incredible dedication of volunteers like Rachel and Matt. As the fox begins its journey to recovery, it stands as a symbol of hope and resilience.
We wish the little survivor a speedy recovery and salute the volunteers who risked everything to save him.
