Fire Crews Battle Blaze at Freegrounds

Two fire crews from Fareham and Hightown raced to Freegrounds, Titchfield just after 7pm on Thursday. They were met with a camper van engulfed in fierce flames.

Dangerous Gas Containers Inside

The vehicle contained several gas containers, but shockingly, the driver failed to mark the van to warn firefighters. Despite this hazard, all occupants had escaped before help arrived.

Swift Action Saves Lives

Firefighters donned breathing apparatus and tackled the inferno using two hose reel jets. They also used a thermal imaging camera to monitor the gas containers’ stability as they battled the blaze.

Camper Van Destroyed, No Injuries Reported

The camper van was left severely damaged. The fire is believed to have started accidentally. Thankfully, no one was hurt in the dramatic incident.
