Firefighters Race to Tackle Vehicle Inferno

Emergency services rushed to Bluebell Hill on the A229 (Chatham-bound) yesterday afternoon after a car erupted in flames. Kent Fire and Rescue Service (KFRS) sprang into action, dispatching three fire engines at 2.02pm on Saturday 2nd August 2025.

Firefighters donned breathing apparatus and doused the blaze with a high-pressure hose reel jet. Thanks to their swift response, the fire was fully extinguished by 3pm.

No Injuries but Cause Unknown

Thankfully, no one was hurt in the dramatic fire. The cause remains a mystery as authorities launch an investigation into what sparked the blaze.

Traffic Grind to a Halt on Chatham-Bound Carriageway

The fire brought serious disruption to traffic heading towards Chatham. Motorists were urged to find alternative routes while crews battled the flames.

“Crews responded quickly to the scene and successfully extinguished the vehicle fire. We are pleased to report there were no injuries,” a KFRS spokesperson said.
