Car Blaze Sparks Fire Alert on A2 Near Singlewell

A flaming car on the A2 coastbound this evening triggered a rapid fire response near Singlewell. At 5:15 PM, Kent Fire and Rescue Service dispatched two fire engines to tackle the intense blaze.

Firefighters Battle Blaze with High-Tech Gear

Armed with breathing apparatus, crews doused the flames using a high-pressure hose reel jet and compressed air foam system (CAFs). They also deployed Jaws of Life hydraulic spreaders, rams, cutting tools, safe access equipment, and a thermal imaging camera to get the fire under control.

Road Shutdown and Safe Reopen After No Injuries

The A2 was temporarily closed to keep motorists safe while firefighters worked furiously to extinguish the fire. Thankfully, no injuries were reported. Thanks to the quick, professional action, the road reopened soon after the scene was declared safe.
