Tragic Death of Rising Boxing Star Ali Tazeem, 18

Ali Tazeem, the promising Wolverhampton boxer nicknamed “the next Amir Khan,” has tragically died at just 18 years old.

From Local Talent to International Medalist

Born in Wolverhampton, Ali trained with Walsall’s Pound 4 Pound Boxing Academy and recently spent a week under the guidance of Floyd Mayweather Senior. The talented athlete had already bagged 15 international gold medals and was seen as a future champion.

Shock and Grief After Fatal Crash

The fatal incident occurred around 1.45am on Merridale Road, near Oaks Drive, Chapel Ash. Emergency services were called after a crash involving a red Vauxhall Corsa.

The other driver, also 18, was rushed to hospital and remains in critical condition.

Sam Jones, Head of Talent Relations at Probellum, which had signed Ali, expressed his heartbreak on Twitter:

“This morning I woke up to the news that Ali Tazeem has passed away at the age of 18. I can’t believe it. I can’t even process it properly.”

Police Seek Witnesses and Dashcam Footage

West Midlands Police are urging anyone who was near Merridale Road around the time of the crash to come forward. They especially want to hear from anyone who saw the red Vauxhall Corsa or has dashcam footage.

Witnesses can contact investigators via Live Chat on the West Midlands Police website, quoting log 295 of 17 April.
