Police have launched a serious probe after skeletal remains were found in a tent in a Hull alleyway.
Grim Find in Melwood Grove Sends Shockwaves
Humberside Police were called to Melwood Grove, Hull, at around 8:15pm last Thursday. A member of the public spotted what looked like human bones inside a tent tucked away in a residential alley.
Officers believe the remains are from a single individual. The scene is sealed off with a police cordon in place. More officers are expected on site as detectives dig into the chilling discovery.

A Humberside Police spokesperson said: “A scene guard is currently in place following the discovery of what appears to be human skeletal remains on Melwood Grove in Hull yesterday evening (Thursday, 11 December 2025).”
Detective Chief Inspector Ben Robinson, leading the case, added: “I understand a report of this nature will likely cause concern amongst the community. I want to reassure everyone that a dedicated team of specialist forensic officers is working to establish the circumstances surrounding this discovery.”
