Couple Knocked Out as Shop Front Collapses Outside Portsmouth Costa
A middle-aged couple are in hospital after a large piece of a shop front fell on them outside Costa Coffee on bustling Commercial Road, Portsmouth. The pair were knocked to the ground and needed urgent medical treatment.
Chaos on Commercial Road
An eyewitness described the shocking scene: “I was sat nearby when I saw the wood fall from the top and the two collapsed in a heap on the ground.” Shoppers and Costa staff rushed to help the injured couple, who suffered head and back injuries.
Police Launch Investigation
Police quickly cordoned off the area around the coffee shop to keep the public safe. The couple were rushed to QA Hospital in Cosham, where they are currently recovering.
