Cowes RNLI Lifeboat Scrambles Again—Third Call in 24 Hours!
36ft Yacht Struggles in Osborne Bay
Just before 10am on Friday, the Cowes RNLI lifeboat rushed to the rescue once more. A 36ft yacht was stuck in Osborne Bay, battling slow progress against the tide and a faulty engine.
Skipper’s SOS to Cowes Lifeboat
The yacht, bound for portsmouth/" title="Portsmouth" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Portsmouth, flagged down the Cowes lifeboat after crawling along at a snail’s pace. The skipper hoped to reach the Portsmouth Harbour entrance, where a rib was expected to help tow the vessel back to berth.
When Backup Fails, Lifeboat Steps Up
The rib failed to show up, so the Cowes lifeboat took matters into its own hands. They hooked up an alongside tow and safely brought the yacht back to port, avoiding what could have been a major maritime mishap.
