Woman Dies After Falling from North Circular Bridge

Tragedy struck on the North Circular in Chingford last Thursday evening when a woman fell from a bridge and died at the scene. Police have confirmed her death is not being treated as suspicious.

Emergency Response and Police Investigation

Emergency services were alerted at about 8.46pm on August 14 following reports of the fall on the A406 North Circular. London Ambulance Service rushed an ambulance crew, a paramedic in a fast response car, and an incident response officer to the scene.

“We were called at 8.46pm on 14 August to reports of a person who had fallen from a bridge on the A406, Chingford. Sadly a person had died at the scene.” – London Ambulance Service spokesperson

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said:

“Her death is not being treated as suspicious at this time. A file will be prepared for the coroner.”

Traffic Chaos and Ongoing Inquiry

The incident caused major tailbacks and delays on the busy North Circular as emergency crews worked at the scene. Police also carried out door-to-door inquiries in the area.

The woman involved has not yet been formally identified. The coroner will now lead the investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death.
