Shocking Road Rage Attack on Cyclist in Haringey

Tuesday evening turned nasty for a cyclist in his 40s near Hornsey Gate, Haringey. Around 6.15pm on Endymion Road, the man was overtaking stationary traffic at a red light during his commute home when a blue car turned aggressive.

Driver Rams Cyclist and Drags Him Along Road

As the lights turned green, the cyclist overtook the car and pulled in. Suddenly, the driver started beeping and revving the engine before ramming the cyclist’s back wheel twice. This forced the cyclist into oncoming traffic, smashing his rear tyre off.

But it didn’t stop there. The driver reached out, grabbed the hood of the cyclist’s coat, and dragged him along the road while still driving. The cyclist eventually fell off, but the motorist sped off before help could arrive.

Cyclist Hurt but Lucky to Escape Serious Injuries

Thankfully, the man only suffered minor injuries despite the terrifying ordeal. The attacker is described as an older Black man with a beard and greying hair.

Detectives from North Area CID are investigating this violent road rage attack and urgently want witnesses to come forward.

Detective Sergeant Nick Davies said: “This was a shocking road rage incident, with the cyclist being dragged along the road at speed before falling off. He was left very shaken but thankfully avoided serious injuries thanks to alert motorists who braked in time. We thank those who have already helped and ask anyone in the area around 6.15pm on 8 November to check their dash cams and contact us. No detail is too small.”
