M20 SMART Motorway Overnight Closures SCRAPPED
Good news for drivers on the M20! Contractors behind the controversial SMART motorway upgrades have CANCELLED all overnight closures for the rest of the week.
What’s Changing?
Kier, the firm working for Highways England, announced:
“Please note that the closures of the M20 London bound and coastbound between junctions 4 and 6 have been cancelled for the rest of the week. We will now only be closing the London bound junction 5 entry slip.
Attempts to get an explanation from Kier were met with silence. The ongoing widening work has caused months of delays and chaos for commuters.
M20: A Hotspot for Trouble
Adding to the misery, the dreaded Operation Brock contraflow remains in place, making the M20 a nightmare for drivers and a magnet for accidents.
Motorists will breathe a sigh of relief with the reduced closures — but frustration over the long-term disruption continues.
