Fake Cops Swipe Cash After Breaking Into SW15 Home
Thugs posing as police officers have left West Hill residents rattled after breaking into a home and stealing cash while the occupant was handcuffed. The brazen raid happened on 6 January around 6.15pm when three men knocked on the door claiming to be officers executing a warrant.
Once inside, they handcuffed the homeowner and made off with cash, leaving their victim tied up and terrified.
Second Attempt Foiled as Fake Police Try to Break into Another Property
Just two days later, on 8 January at 10am, two more suspicious males wearing black, baseball caps, and masks tried to force open a property on Ennerdale Road. Neighbours spotted the pair and confronted them, at which point the men claimed to be police officers.
Their bid to break in failed, and they quickly vanished in the direction of Putney Village.
Police Hunt ‘Linked’ Suspects — Urge Public to Come Forward
Detective Constable Arron Hadaway, leading the investigation, said:
“We are treating these incidents as linked and urge anyone with info or who witnessed anything to come forward. If you think you were approached by these fake officers or have any details that could help, please get in touch.”
Witnesses and anyone with information should call police on 101 quoting Cad 5618/6JAN immediately.
