A serious crash on the M2 motorway has left one person badly injured and urgently flown to a London hospital by air ambulance.

The rescue chopper was spotted speeding towards Junction 5 near Sittingbourne at 8:42 a.m. to reach the crash site. Traffic cameras later showed emergency services halting traffic at 10:05 a.m. to allow the aircraft to land safely.
Long Queues Back to Junction 7
Queues have stretched back to Junction 7 Brenley Corner near Faversham as the motorway remains partially blocked. Drivers were diverted via the A20 and M20 towards Maidstone, then onto the A249 Sittingbourne Road.
Police Confirm Road Closure Amid Ongoing Investigation
A police spokesperson said: “One person has been airlifted to a London hospital. The road is currently closed while emergency services deal with the collision.”
Emergency crews are at the scene working to clear the wreckage and investigate. Motorists are urged to seek alternative routes and expect delays while the incident is resolved.
