Car Flips on Side in Chelsfield Lane Crash – Driver Walks Away Unscathed
A driver narrowly avoided serious injury after their car flipped onto its side in a dramatic late-night smash on Chelsfield Lane, Orpington, on Wednesday 24 July.
Flipped Car Sparks Emergency Rescue
Emergency crews rushed to the scene at 11:51pm, where a blue Toyota Yaris had rolled onto its side near the junction with Petten Road. Firefighters worked quickly to free the driver trapped inside the vehicle.
Using a specialist Tirfor winch, the fire brigade carefully righted the car. The driver was freed and checked over by paramedics from the London Ambulance Service. Fortunately, no serious injuries were reported.
Road Closure and Bus Diversions Cause Delays
- Chelsfield Lane was fully shut at the Petten Road junction from 11:51pm.
- The road reopened at 12:21am after all vehicles were cleared.
