The Duchess stole the show today as she officially named the Red Funnel’s Red Jet 7 at a lively event in Cowes. Festivities kicked off at midday, with the grand naming happening just after 1.30pm by Trinity Landing. After the ceremony, the Duchess enjoyed lunch with VIP guests at the prestigious Royal Yacht Squadron.

Red Jet 7: A £7 Million Marvel Hits the Waves
Kevin George, chairman of Red Funnel, expressed his delight: “We’re thrilled the Duchess agreed to christen our new £7 million ferry. Red Jet 7 follows in the wake of Red Jet 6, which was named by HRH Princess Royal back in 2016.”
The 277-seat Red Jet 7 launched on June 6 at the Wight Shipyard Co in East Cowes and has now completed successful sea trials. Passengers can expect first-class features including free WiFi, USB charging points, leather seats, air conditioning, toilets, and TV screens delivering live travel info.
