Before the London Fire Brigade arrived, sixteen residents had already fled the building. Three more left after emergency 999 Control Officers advised them to evacuate. London Ambulance Service swiftly treated the woman affected by the smoke and rushed her to hospital for urgent care.

Crews from Beckenham, West Norwood, Woodside, Forest Hill, and surrounding stations teamed up at the scene.
