EastEnders, Coronation Street, and Emmerdale Fans Hit by Major Soap Schedule Chaos!
Soap lovers are fuming this week as Wimbledon and the UEFA Women’s Euros wreak havoc on their favourite shows. BBC and ITV have shuffled schedules, leaving fans without new episodes of EastEnders, Coronation Street, and Emmerdale.
EastEnders Off Air Until 9 July
BBC One’s EastEnders took an unexpected break after Tuesday’s episode on 1 July. No new episodes will air on:
- Monday, 7 July
- Tuesday, 8 July
The soap finally returns with a bang on Wednesday, 9 July featuring a double bill at 8pm and 8:30pm. After that:
- Thursday, 10 July at 7pm
- Friday, 11 July at 7pm
Coronation Street and Emmerdale Halted Too
ITV has also pressed pause on new episodes of Coronation Street and Emmerdale after 2 July. The next Coronation Street episode is pushed back to Thursday, 10 July at 9pm, thanks to extended UEFA Women’s Euros coverage.
To soften the blow, ITV has released both soaps early on ITV1 at 7am—matching their ITVX online availability—for keen viewers eager to catch up.
Fans Vent Fury on Social Media
Frustrated fans flooded X (formerly Twitter) with complaints:
“Checking BBC iPlayer for #EastEnders this morning only to remember it’s not on today…”
“5 days of this torment.”
“Due to Wimbledon and the Woman’s Euros…expect the schedules to be all over the place…it’s just annoying. #EastEnders.”
When Will Things Get Back to Normal?
Broadcasters have assured viewers that regular soap schedules will resume once the sports coverage wraps up. So hang tight, soap fans. The drama you crave is just around the corner!
