Portsmouth Museums Serve Up Easter Fun for Families!

Portsmouth’s museums are rolling out a cracking lineup of Easter events for kids this holiday. Families can grab a free Easter egg by completing one of the museum trails over the Easter weekend.

Discover, Craft, and Play This Easter Weekend

Trails cost just 50p each and bring local history and nature to life. On Wednesday, from 11am to 3pm, kids can explore the secrets of Milton Locks Nature Reserve.

The Hampshire & Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust is hosting a free drop-in session at Portsmouth Museum, offering hands-on fun for kids aged 5-11 and their families. Plus, the Creation Station workshops will be running art and craft sessions all over town the following week.

Exciting Themed Events All Week Long

  • Tuesday 5 April: Wildlife-themed activities at Portsmouth Museum.
  • Wednesday 6 April: Circus and clown fun at Southsea Castle.
  • Thursday 7 April: Dinosaur-inspired Jurassic art at Cumberland House Natural History Museum.

Drop-in sessions run 11am-3pm and suit ages 2-11. Children must be with an adult. Tickets cost £3 per child or £1.75 with a Leisure Card.

Book Early—Spaces Are Limited

Sessions are popular and space is tight. Visitors may face waiting times, and not everyone may be able to join in during the slot. Meanwhile, Eastney Beam Engine House will also be hosting free events. Don’t miss out on the Easter school holiday action!
