Emergency Crews Scramble to Wingfield Street

Fire crews from Southsea, Cosham, Havant, Eastleigh, and Portchester raced to a fire breaking out on the 12th floor of Pickwick House, a Portsmouth tower block. The alarm was raised at around 7.40pm on Saturday evening in the Charles Dickens Estate.

High-Rise Fire Hits Community Hub

The 12th floor houses the community room, laundrette, and scooter storage. Multiple fire crews were deployed to tackle the blaze and return to the scene by 9.40pm to continue firefighting efforts.

Authorities Warn Residents to Steer Clear

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue confirmed they are actively handling the incident and urged locals to avoid the area for safety reasons.
