Fuel Fiasco at Isle of Wight Garage: Diesel Blunder Sparks Repair Chaos

Drivers beware! If you filled up with unleaded at Harwood’s Garage in Wootton, Isle of Wight, you might be facing costly vehicle repairs. The garage has admitted diesel was mistakenly pumped into the unleaded tank. Even worse, despite knowing about the error on Thursday, the faulty fuel was still sold well into Friday morning.

Diesel Dumped in Unleaded Tank

The mix-up happened during a fuel delivery by Certas Energy on Thursday 3rd May. But the garage only realised the blunder the following morning after a customer raised the alarm. Furious motorists have reported damage, with repair bills now expected to run into thousands.

Garage’s Delayed Action Sparks Outrage

Rather than pulling the petrol pumps right away, Harwood’s kept selling contaminated fuel through Friday morning. It was only after being tipped off by a customer that they finally ceased sales from the affected tank.
