Fatal Tesla vs. Double-Decker Crash on North Yorkshire Road
North Yorkshire Police are hunting for witnesses after a fatal smash between a white Tesla Model 3 and a blue-and-white double-decker bus on the B1224 Wetherby Road. The horrific collision happened near the A1237 junction at around 9:20am on Saturday, June 29, 2024.
One Dead, Several Injured
Tragically, a 31-year-old male passenger from newcastle/" title="Newcastle" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Newcastle was pronounced dead at the scene. His family have been informed and are receiving support from police.
The Tesla’s driver, a 32-year-old man from Teesside, suffered serious injuries and was rushed to hospital. Three other passengers in the Tesla, plus the bus driver, were treated for minor injuries.
Road Closure and Police Appeal
The B1224 remained shut until 5:25pm while cops investigated and cleared the crash scene.
North Yorkshire Police urgently want anyone who saw the smash or has dash-cam footage to come forward. They are also keen to hear from anyone who spotted the offending vehicles before the crash.
