Major Fire Erupts at Tilbury Metals Yard in Farlington

Twenty firefighters rushed to Tilbury Metals scrapyard in Farlington this afternoon following a fire breaking out just after 3.20pm on Old Reservoir Road. Three fire crews from Cosham and Southsea stations tackled the blaze, with two more appliances and a command unit called in to help bring it under control.

Fire Contained Within an Hour

A fire service spokesman revealed the flames engulfed an area roughly 5 metres by 20 metres. Firefighters quickly surrounded the site, managing to extinguish the fire just after 4.20pm.

No Injuries Reported as Emergency Teams Respond

Thankfully, everyone at the scrapyard was accounted for, and there were no injuries. An ambulance was on standby as a precaution, while police stepped in to manage traffic around the scene.
