Eight fire engines and around 60 firefighters rushed to a raging blaze on Gosport Road, Walthamstow, on Wednesday 9th November. The London Fire Brigade received multiple urgent calls about the fire, which broke out in a top-floor flat.
Trapped Residents Including Baby Spark Rescue Effort
Reports say a young baby and others are trapped inside the burning property, intensifying the dramatic emergency response. A specialist turntable ladder has been deployed to reach the upper floors.
Road Closures and Emergency Crews Flood the Scene
Several road closures are in place as fire crews from Walthamstow, Leyton, Tottenham and surrounding areas tackle the blaze. Paramedics, a HART team, and a London air ambulance have also been called to the scene.
Official Statement and Ongoing Investigation
A London Fire Brigade spokesman said: “Eight fire engines and around 60 firefighters have been called to a flat fire on Gosport Road in Walthamstow. Firefighters are tackling a blaze in a flat on the top floor of a block of flats. The Brigade’s Control Office has received 19 calls about the fire. The Brigade was called at 11.58am. Fire crews from multiple stations are at the scene. The cause of the fire is not known at this stage.”
