Firefighters rush to deluxe Nine Elms waterfront apartments
Several fire crews from the London Fire Brigade scrambled to Nine Elms Lane, right by the American Embassy in South West London, just before 11pm on Sunday.
Blaze breaks out on first-floor balcony
The alarm was raised after flames ignited on a balcony of one of the swanky waterfront apartments and penthouses. Witnesses reported thick smoke and visible flames prompting multiple 999 calls.
Cause still unknown as fire rages on
Firefighters deployed significant resources to tackle the blaze. The origin of the fire remains unclear and is currently under investigation.
