Firefighters rushed to a blaze burning close to Sandown Airport on the Isle of Wight this morning.
Peat Fire Ignites Between Airport and Woodland
The fire, spotted just before 11am on Friday, broke out in an open area of peat between the airport and a nearby wooded region.
Shanklin Crew Lead Firefighting Efforts
One crew from Shanklin Fire Station was quickly dispatched to tackle the smouldering peat and bring the flames under control.
