Fire Rips Through Tulse Hill Home

Three fire engines and about 15 firefighters rushed to a blaze at a terraced house on Birkbeck Place, Tulse Hill, yesterday evening (March 15).

Woman Hospitalised After Smoke Inhalation

The fire damaged half of the lower ground floor in the three-storey home. Before fire crews arrived, two children managed to escape the scene unharmed. A woman was taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service after suffering smoke inhalation.

Firefighters Battle Blaze for Over Two Hours

The Brigade was called at 6.39pm. Engines from West Norwood and Brixton attended, bringing the fire under control by 8.44pm.

Blaze Linked to Cooking Accident

Investigators believe the fire started when an electrical item touched a cooking hob that had been accidentally left on, sparking the dangerous fire.
