Cosham Firefighters Bring Christmas Cheer to Hospital Kids
Firefighters at Cosham Fire Station in Portsmouth have gone above and beyond this festive season. They organised a special Christmas show for children spending their holidays at Queen Alexandra Hospital.
A Festive Rescue – Santa Stuck in Chimney!
In a magical twist, the firefighters staged a daring “rescue” of Santa Claus himself. Santa got “stuck” in a chimney atop the station’s training tower. Using an aerial platform, the crew heroically brought him down to safety. The kids loved it!
After the rescue, Santa was welcomed into a sparkling grotto decked out with lights, music, and a huge Christmas tree inside the station commander’s office. From there, he handed out presents, lighting up the children’s faces with festive joy.
Spreading Joy and Hope During the Holidays
“It’s very humbling for us as firefighters,” said station commander Lee Sheen. “It’s something we’re proud to do and want to carry on.”
The event gave the young patients a precious break from their worries. Lee Sheen added that the firefighters plan to revisit the hospital’s children’s ward on Christmas Day to spread even more cheer with gifts.
This heartwarming initiative shines a spotlight on the community spirit and dedication of Cosham’s firefighters — even during the busiest time of year.
