Tyre Yard Blaze in Southend Doused by Essex Firefighters

Firefighters from Essex County Fire and Rescue rushed to London Road, Southend, in the early hours of Wednesday after a massive fire broke out in a yard.

At 2.45am, the incident commander revealed that two tonnes of tyres and several vehicles were ablaze, creating a fierce, smoke-filled scene.

Brilliant Firefighting Effort

Incident Commander David Gomez praised his team’s work:

“Our crews did a fantastic job of surrounding the fire and stopping it from spreading to nearby buildings. It was thanks to their hard 1 and skill that we managed to quickly bring it under control and extinguish it within 90 minutes.”

Investigation Underway

Fire officers will now launch a full investigation to determine what sparked the blaze. Further updates are expected as the inquiry unfolds.
