Chaos on the tracks at Kentish Town as smoke sparks train delays

Commuters were left stranded tonight after several trains were cancelled at Kentish Town station. Smoke was spotted billowing from underneath a train carriage, sparking fears of a serious incident on the Northern Line.

Firefighters scramble to scene

The London Fire Brigade rushed multiple crews to the station after reports of smoke coming from a southbound Northern line train. On arrival, firefighters found smoke issuing from one of the carriages.

Train halted and line shut down

Emergency teams stopped the train immediately and isolated the line to keep passengers safe. Firefighters are currently inspecting the carriages, engine panels, and track with thermal imaging cameras to identify the cause.
