Firefighters Tackle Blaze at Industrial Unit in Broad Road
Fire crews from Ongar, Manningtree, and Hawkwell are battling a blaze at an industrial site this morning. Thick smoke is still billowing, especially around the Broad Road area.
Residents Urged to Keep Windows and Doors Shut
Station Manager Ben Turner reassured locals: “We’ll be on scene all day. You might see more smoke as we remove materials from the unit and continue to douse the flames. This is nothing to worry about — we have the incident under control.”
Firefighters Working to Remove Materials Safely
Crews are teaming up with partners to carefully remove recyclable materials from inside the building to extinguish them safely outside. Authorities warn the clean-up could take some time.
