Roof Engulfed in Flames

Part of the roof of a three-storey block went up in flames early this morning. Firefighters rushed to the scene after the London Fire Brigade received a call at 6.36am. By 8.28am, the blaze was under control.

Woman Treated for Smoke Inhalation

One woman needed treatment at the scene for smoke inhalation, attended by London Ambulance Service crews.

Firefighters Battle Inferno from 32m Ladder

Station Commander Jim Berry said: “The roof of the building was well alight when firefighters arrived. Crews used one of our 32m ladders to put water on the fire from height.

Road Closures Remain, Drivers Warned

Some local roads are still closed as crews finish up. Motorists are urged to avoid the area where possible.

Ten fire engines and around 70 firefighters from Orpington, Bromley, Biggin Hill, Beckenham, Addington, and nearby stations tackled the blaze. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
