Fire Erupts in Basement But Quick Response Keeps Damage Limited
Blaze Hits Building Basement
A fire broke out in a building’s basement, causing damage to a small area. Luckily, around 85 people evacuated safely before firefighters arrived. No injuries were reported.
Rapid Fire Brigade Action
The Brigade was alerted at 3.49pm and had the fire under control by 5.13pm. Fire crews from Soho, Paddington, Lambeth, and Kensington rushed to the scene to tackle the blaze.
Cause Linked to Hot Works
Investigators believe the fire was accidental, sparked by hot works being carried out in the basement at the time.
