Five-Car Crash Brings M25 to a Standstill
A major five-vehicle collision has caused chaos on the M25 anti-clockwise between junctions 30 (A13) and 29 (Romford). Lanes three and four remain shut while emergency crews work at the scene. Essex Police, Ambulance Services, and Highways England Traffic Officers are all on hand managing the incident.
Motorists can still squeeze through in lanes one and two, but expect crawling traffic.
Massive Tailbacks Snarl Traffic for Miles
The crash has sparked over eight miles of gridlock stretching back to junction 3 (M20 interchange). Drivers are facing an additional 60 to 90 minutes on top of usual travel times. If you’re heading through Essex or Kent, best to rethink your route or brace for delays.
Update: Incident Cleared but Delays Mount
The crash has now been cleared. However, severe tailbacks remain. Congestion has grown to nearly 10 miles, reaching back towards junction 4 near Orpington and Badgers Mount. Current delays are adding up to 90 minutes to typical journey times.
Traffic continues to back up across key routes including the A282, Dartford Crossing, A2, M2, and M20. Plan accordingly if you’re travelling in the area.
