A huge wall of flames erupted tonight on the outskirts of Godshill, sparking panic among locals. Several worried residents dialled the fire service after spotting towering flames and thick black smoke billowing over Chequers Inn Road.

Fire crews from Newport were quickly dispatched, with one appliance currently tackling the blaze. Thankfully, reports suggest it’s a controlled burn on a nearby farm, keeping the danger contained.
