From Near-Death to Ultra Marathon: Stuart’s Epic Comeback
Last year, Stuart Pearson’s life was on the line after a brutal brain bleed. Rushed to Southampton General Hospital for emergency surgery, he fought back against the odds. Doctors feared the worst, but Stuart pulled through, making a full recovery despite battling memory issues and crippling fatigue.
Training for a 50K Ultra Marathon in the New Forest
Now, Stuart is setting his sights on an incredible new challenge: a 50km (32 miles) ultra marathon this December. “I’ve run 10-15 miles before, but never a marathon, let alone an ultra,” he admits. Determined, he’s already deep into training, pushing through tiredness to smash his goals.
Raising Funds for Brain Injury Charity Headway
Stuart is running to support Headway – Portsmouth and South East Hampshire, a charity aiding brain injury survivors. “My injury knocked me for six – both physically and mentally,” he says. “It’s horrible and recovery takes ages, if you’re lucky.”
Healthy before his injury, Stuart spent months unable to work or exercise. “Some don’t even get the chance to recover,” he adds.
Support Stuart’s Mission – Every Donation Counts
Backed by his girlfriend, family, and friends, Stuart knows many face brain injuries alone. “I want to raise as much as possible for Headway,” he says. “Having support in those dark times is vital.”
If you can, donate now and share his story. Every penny helps survivors get back on their feet.
