London Gatwick Unveils 14 New Routes for Summer 2024
London Gatwick is gearing up for a busy summer, offering travellers from London and the South East a whopping 223 destinations via 56 airlines. Just in time for the school holidays, the airport has launched 14 exciting new routes.
Fresh Destinations to Explore
Short-haul flights now include:
- Gothenburg, Sweden (Norwegian) – 4 times weekly
- Vagar, Faroe Islands (Atlantic Airways) – Twice weekly
- Ponta Delgada, Azores, Portugal (Azores Airlines) – Twice weekly
- Varna, Bulgaria (Wizz Air) – 3 times weekly
- Salerno, Italy (easyJet) – From 13 July, twice weekly
- Skiathos, Greece (easyJet) – Twice weekly
- Rome, Italy (ITA Airways) – Daily flights
New long-haul temptations include:
- Halifax, Canada (WestJet) – 4 times weekly
- St John’s, Canada (WestJet) – 3 times weekly
- Beijing, China (Air China) – Daily
- Singapore (Singapore Airlines) – 5 times weekly
- Guangzhou, China (China Southern) – 3 times weekly starting 20 June
- Erbil, Iraq (FlyErbil) – Weekly
Domestic travel is also boosted with new British Airways flights to Jersey four times a week.
More Routes on the Horizon
From 18 August, Air India is launching a new service to Bengaluru. Later in the year, expect services to Bangkok (Thailand), Islamabad (Pakistan), and Rovaniemi (Finland) to kick off.

Stephanie added that 95% of passengers clear security in under five minutes, enjoying a smooth, hassle-free Gatwick experience.
Gatwick’s Long-Term Plans
The airport is also pushing ahead with plans to bring its Northern Runway into regular use. This move aims to slash delays, boost resilience, and strengthen the economy by creating new jobs and supporting trade and tourism.
