Huge House Fire Ravages Ickenham Bungalow
Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters battled a fierce blaze on High Road, Ickenham. The fire tore through half the ground floor and completely destroyed the bungalow’s roof. Thankfully, no one was injured in the dramatic incident.
No Smoke Alarms Put Lives at Risk
Shockingly, the house had no working smoke alarms. A London Fire Brigade spokesperson warned: “This incident is a timely reminder about the importance of having smoke alarms in your home. Not having working smoke alarms leaves you and your loved ones at risk.”
They added, “Homes need multiple smoke alarms to be properly covered. At a minimum, you should have smoke alarms on every floor—in hallways and the rooms you use most—plus a heat alarm in the bathroom and kitchen.”
