Tiny Tots in High-Risk Groups Now Eligible for Covid Jab

Children aged six months to four years who are in clinical risk groups can now get the Covid vaccine, Health and Social Care Secretary Steve Barclay has confirmed.

‘Low Risk, But Some Vulnerable Kids Need Protection’

“Children are at very low risk of harm from Covid,” Barclay said. “However, a tiny number with underlying health issues are more vulnerable. For these children, we want to give parents the choice to vaccinate or not.”

Parents to Decide on Vaccinating At-Risk Little Ones

Barclay added he has accepted the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation’s advice to allow vaccinations for high-risk children aged six months to four years.

“It is a parental decision. This guidance simply empowers parents of medically vulnerable kids to choose Covid protection if they wish,” he said.
