All Hands on Deck in Overnight Rescue Operation
In the early hours, a full-scale search and rescue mission was launched. The operation involved a UK Border Force vessel, a Coastguard helicopter, and several passing ships all scouring the waters for small boats in distress.
Three Small Boats Rescued; No Further Survivors Found
Rescuers located three small boats and safely pulled everyone on board to safety. After an extensive search, no additional boats or people were found in the area.
UK and France Unite to Save Lives
Throughout the operation, UK teams worked closely with French authorities, sharing vital information to save lives. “There isn’t a circumstance under which we would ask a caller to call French authorities instead of us. They always have and always will respond to anyone in distress,” officials confirmed.
Our deepest sympathies go out to the families mourning those who tragically lost their lives in the Channel.
