Urgent Search Underway for Missing Teen Athrun in Llandudno

A high-risk missing person alert has been issued for 16-year-old Athrun, who disappeared on Saturday afternoon, May 10, near West Shore Beach in Llandudno, North Wales. The Gloucestershire teen was last seen around 2pm wearing only blue and white patterned swimming shorts, sparking major concerns for his safety.

Massive Search Operation Launched

North Wales Police have teamed up with Coastguard units, helicopters, search and rescue dogs, and underwater teams to find Athrun. Detective Chief Inspector Simon Kneale described the case as a “high-risk missing person enquiry.”

“Significant areas of Llandudno have already been searched and those efforts continue,” said DCI Kneale.

Residents have been urged to check their gardens, sheds, and outbuildings as drone and water search units comb the coastline.

Police Call for Public Help

Authorities are appealing for anyone with dashcam footage from 12pm to 6pm on Saturday in the West Shore area to come forward. They are also seeking any photos taken at or around the beach on the same day.
