Hosepipe Ban in Kent and Sussex Officially Lifted!
The temporary hosepipe ban choking Kent and Sussex is no more. South East Water announced the end of the restrictions from Wednesday, 30 November.
Rain Saves the Day
After a scorcher of a summer, November’s heavy rains have worked wonders. Rivers and reservoirs are refilled, and the ground is soaked enough to replenish underground chalk aquifers. This surge means surface water can flow freely once again into vital water supplies.
Keep Drinking, Not Wasting
A South East Water spokesperson said: “Thank you to all our customers in Kent, Sussex, and beyond for saving water during the ban. While our water levels have recovered enough to lift the ban, please keep an eye on your usage to ensure the taps keep running for everyone.”
The message is clear: enjoy the rain relief but don’t go back to wasting water just yet!
