Blaze Breaks Out at Canning Town Glass Factory – 60 Firefighters Race to Scene

Massive Fire Erupts at Lanrick Road Warehouse

Eight fire engines and about 60 firefighters were scrambled to tackle a fierce blaze at a glass manufacturing warehouse in Canning Town this afternoon, Thursday, August 23rd. The fire gutted half of a glass hardening unit on the ground floor, while also damaging part of the mezzanine floor and the roof.

No Injuries but Firefighters Swamped with Emergency Calls

Thankfully, no injuries were reported. London Fire Brigade’s 999 Control Officers received 11 calls about the fire, which broke out around 12.30pm. The fire was brought under control by 1.52pm.

Firefighters from Across East London Join the Fight

Crews from Plaistow, Millwall, Shadwell, East Greenwich, Stratford and nearby stations all pitched in to battle the flames. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
