Rail Worker Dies in Tragic Eastleigh Depot Accident

British Transport Police are probing the sudden death of a railway worker at Eastleigh Railway Depot yesterday.

Fatal Accident at Eastleigh Depot

Officers rushed to the depot at 2.50pm following reports of a man injured while operating machinery. Paramedics battled to save the 53-year-old, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Man Arrested and Released

A man in his forties was arrested on suspicion in connection with the incident. He has now been released under investigation while inquiries continue.

Investigation Ongoing

The police are working closely with the Office of Rail and Road to uncover the full circumstances behind the tragic fatality.

Detective Chief Inspector Paul Langley said: “This is a tragic incident and our deepest condolences are with the man’s family, who are being supported by specially trained officers.
