Tragic Multi-Vehicle Crash Shuts Down M25 in Hertfordshire
The Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) has launched a full investigation after a horrific multi-vehicle collision on the M25 near Hertfordshire. The smash happened between junctions 21A and 22, forcing a complete shutdown of a five-mile stretch of the busy motorway.
M25 Closed Following Fatal Crash Involving Pursuit Van
A Hertfordshire Police spokesman confirmed the M25 remains closed between junctions 22 (London Colney) and 21A (North Orbital Road/St Albans) after a crash early this morning around 4am. Officers had been pursuing a van, which then collided with three other vehicles. Thankfully, no police cars were involved in the actual collision, and the chase had been called off beforehand.
Woman Killed and Family Offered Support
Tragically, a woman died in the crash. Police say her family is now receiving support from specially trained officers during this difficult time.
