Kent Fire and Rescue Service (KFRS) has been scrambled to multiple weather-related emergencies caused by Storm Ciarán. From 11:30pm on November 1 to 9am November 2, crews tackled incidents across Ashford, Canterbury, Folkestone, and Hythe.

The fierce storm, battering the region with powerful winds and heavy rain, has forced KFRS to deploy specialist support vehicles, including a technical rescue unit. These teams have been working non-stop to deal with the fallout from the harsh weather.
- Unsecured structures reported in Liden Crescent and Bonsor Road, Folkestone
- Sparking cables spotted on Rusham Road, Shatterling, Canterbury
- Tree blocking main route on Kennington Road, Willesborough, Ashford – removed by technical rescue unit

KFRS reminds residents to reserve 999 calls for true emergencies only. For non-urgent issues like power cuts or fallen trees that don’t pose immediate danger, contact the relevant services instead.
“If there’s an immediate risk to life, dialling 999 must remain your first step,” KFRS stressed.
