Firefighters Race to Tackle Raging Van Fire

Emergency services scrambled to the A249 near Detling after reports of a van engulfed in flames at 10:53am on Tuesday, 8 April 2025. Kent Fire and Rescue Service quickly sent two fire engines to the scene. Firefighters, decked out in breathing apparatus, fought the blaze head-on with high-pressure hose reel jets.

Thanks to their swift action, the fire was brought under control by 11:43am.

No Injuries as Police Manage Traffic Chaos

Miraculously, no one was hurt in the fire. The cause remains unknown, with investigations ongoing. Kent Police arrived to manage the snarled traffic and keep drivers safe during the emergency.
