A fierce rooftop blaze broke out at a home on Collendale Road, Walthamstow, on the afternoon of Thursday, 15 May 2025. Flames and smoke were spotted just after 1:30pm, sending multiple emergency calls flooding in from across the street.
Firefighters Launch Full-Scale Attack

- 1:36pm: Flames grow visible, witnesses confirm, multiple calls made.
- 2:00pm: London Fire Brigade (LFB) implements high-rise fire procedures, signalling serious vertical fire risk.
The London Fire Brigade rushed several crews from Walthamstow and nearby stations to the scene. Specialist teams equipped for extended breathing apparatus (EDBA) were on hand, pointing to concerns about smoke and hazardous internal conditions. Backup units held ready at Station F36 ensured local fire cover was not compromised.
No Injuries But Emergency Services Remain on Alert
Thankfully, no injuries have been reported so far. Firefighters continue battling the blaze while the London Ambulance Service patrol nearby, also responding to a separate incident at Northwood Tower in Walthamstow.
