School Trip Horror on A38: Pupils Injured in Serious Crash
Pupils heading on a school art trip were caught up in a nasty collision on Birmingham’s A38 this morning. The school minibus smashed into a refuse lorry, leaving one person seriously hurt. Emergency crews rushed to the chaotic scene as police launched a full investigation.
School Bus Crashes Into Refuse Truck
John Taylor High School, based in Staffordshire, confirmed some of their Year 9 and Year 12 students were involved in the crash on Kingsbury Road, Castle Vale. The school said it was “aware of a road traffic accident involving some of our students” and is doing all it can to support those affected.
The minibus’s side windows are covered with green tarpaulin, hinting at the crash’s severity. The A38 remains shut while emergency responders carry out their work.
Massive Emergency Response On Scene
West Midlands Ambulance Service sprang into action after a call at 9am. Two ambulances, paramedic officers, a hazardous area response team, and the Midlands Air Ambulance crew rushed to the scene. They treated multiple patients, including the lorry driver.
“Crews found a collision between a minibus and a lorry,” a West Midlands Ambulance spokesperson said. “Ambulance staff assessed multiple patients from the minibus at the scene, together with the lorry driver.”
